In short. You can use Kiseki to keep a record of your walks. Kiseki+ is an optional subscription. You can cancel it any time in your Apple account. Walk home lets people you trust know you got home. It is not an emergency service. In an emergency, always call your local emergency number.
1. These terms
These terms apply to the Kiseki iPhone app and the Kiseki+ subscription, made by Mukunda Gujjar (“we”, “us”). Kiseki is licensed to you under Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), together with these terms. By using Kiseki you agree to both. Our privacy policy explains how your information is handled.
2. Kiseki+ subscriptions
Kiseki+ is not available yet. This section applies once it is.
- Kiseki+ is an auto-renewable subscription, offered yearly and monthly. The price for your country is shown in the app before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- The yearly plan may start with a free trial. If you cancel during the trial, you are not charged. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in the Settings app › your name › Subscriptions. You keep Kiseki+ until the end of the period you paid for.
- Purchases are handled by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Features included in Kiseki+ may change over time. If something you paid for is removed, we will try to replace it with something of equal value.
3. Walk home is not an emergency service
Walk home lets the people you invite know when you set off and when you get home, and alerts them if you are late and don’t answer. It depends on things we don’t control, including your iPhone’s battery, location, network connection, iCloud, Apple’s push notifications and your contacts’ devices and settings. Alerts can be late or not arrive at all.
- Walk home does not contact the police, an ambulance or any emergency service.
- Do not rely on Kiseki as your only way to stay safe.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number (for example 110 or 119 in Japan, 911 in the United States, 112 in Europe).
Only invite people you trust, and only with their agreement. You are responsible for whom you share your location with.
4. Walk safely
Pay attention to where you are going and to the people and traffic around you. Don’t use Kiseki while driving or cycling. Respect private property and local rules.
5. Maps, location and weather
Maps are based on OpenStreetMap data, which is made by volunteers and may contain mistakes. Location from GPS can be inaccurate, especially between tall buildings or indoors. Weather comes from Apple Weather. Distances, times and routes in Kiseki are for your journal only. Kiseki is not a navigation, fitness or medical app.
Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Weather data from Apple Weather. Satellite imagery and place names from Apple Maps.
6. Your walks are yours
Everything you create in Kiseki (walks, places, notes and the videos you export) belongs to you. We don’t claim any rights to it. You are responsible for what you share and with whom.
7. Fair use
Don’t misuse Kiseki or its services. For example, don’t use Walk home to track someone without their knowledge, don’t try to disrupt or overload our timer service, and don’t copy or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it.
8. Changes and availability
We work hard to keep Kiseki reliable, but it is provided “as is”. We may update, change or stop features. Kiseki may not always be available or free of errors. Back up anything that matters to you, for example with iCloud backup.
9. Limits of our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Kiseki. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of your country that cannot be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. If you keep using Kiseki after a change, the new terms apply.
