Quick fixes
My walk stopped recording
Open the Settings app, then Privacy & Security › Location Services › Kiseki. Choose While Using the App or Always. Turn on Precise Location.
My photos don't appear on the walk
In Kiseki, open Settings and turn on Keep photos with walks. Then open the Settings app › Kiseki › Photos and choose Full Access. Only photos you take with the camera during the walk show up.
My contacts don't get Walk home alerts
Your contacts need Kiseki on their iPhone. They also need to accept your invite and allow notifications for Kiseki. Check that you both have iCloud turned on.
Delete a walk
Open Walks, swipe left on the walk and tap Delete. You can also open the walk and use the ⋯ menu. Kiseki always asks before it deletes anything.
Change the app language
Open the Settings app › Apps › Kiseki › Language.
Common questions
What is Kiseki?
Kiseki is a walk journal app for iPhone. When you start a walk, it draws your route on a map. Photos you take on the walk show up where you took them.
Is Kiseki a fitness app?
No. It has no step goals, calories or rankings. It helps you remember where you went.
Is Kiseki free?
Yes. Recording walks, photos on your route, replays and Your map are free. Walk home with one contact is free too. Kiseki+ is coming soon. It will add colour and satellite maps, more replay views, iCloud backup, Face ID lock and up to five safety contacts.
Which photos show up on my walk?
Only photos and videos you took with the camera during the walk. Screenshots, screen recordings and saved images are left out. Your photos are never copied or uploaded.
Does it record when my iPhone is locked?
Yes. Kiseki keeps recording in your pocket. You can see the time and distance on the Lock Screen.
Where are my walks saved?
On your iPhone. Kiseki has no account and no servers that keep your walks. A backup to your own iCloud is coming with Kiseki+.
Can I use Kiseki without photo access?
Yes. Photos are off until you turn them on. Everything else works without them.
Does Kiseki work offline?
Yes, Kiseki can record without a connection. The map needs a connection to load new areas. If you were offline, the weather is added later.
How does Walk home work?
First, set your home and invite people you trust with a private link. When you start a walk home and tap Let someone know, they get a message when you leave and when you get home. They can see where you are on the way. If you are late and don't answer your iPhone, they get an alert.
Is Kiseki on Android or Apple Watch?
Not yet. Kiseki is only on iPhone for now.
